Vision & Mission

Please visit the UUFW Mission Survey to help us craft a new mission statement to guide our fellowship in the coming years. The following is the Vision Statement that was developed last spring and which was adopted by the Fellowship at the June annual meeting.

Vision Statement

We envision the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Waynesboro as a diverse and vibrant spiritual community. Rooted in the practice of loving-kindness we are moved to act with justice and generosity in our Fellowship and beyond.

You may be asking yourself, “What is a vision statement? What is a mission statement?” Below are definitions of vision and mission:

Vision: A carefully defined picture of where the congregation wants to be in five or more years. It is the dream of what the congregation can become.
Mission: The purpose of a mission is to guide the congregation towards fulfilling its vision, in how it acts, what it chooses to give its energy to, and how it wants to be known in the wider community.
